Power boat MAST licence consists of practical session, theory & exam. Other sessions can be arranged with sufficient numbers. Licence fees are included
KEELBOAT – YA DISCOVER SAILING (3hr)
Discover sailing spend three hours sailing on the Derwent. The session includes safety briefing, setting up vessel and hands on sailing. Beginners use this session to discover sailing, advanced sailors to evaluate skills and discuss training plans or get a family group together for a sail and finish with a BBQ on board.
KEEL BOAT – KEEL BOAT SAILING (1day)
Experience sailing a keelboat on the Derwent River. This is a 1 day hands on practical session to discover sailing. Using a keelboat will allow you learn without the fear of capsizing. The session introduces terminology, rope work and sailing skills
KEEL BOAT – WOMEN’S SAILING (1 day)
Experience a day sailing a keelboat on the Derwent River. Women’s course provides an opportunity to experience and discuss sailing with other women. This is a practical session to discover sailing and opportunity to practice skills without pressure. Using a keelboat allows you learn without the fear of capsizing. The session introduces terminology, rope work and sailing skills
YA KEEL BOAT – CREW, HELM, SPINNAKER & RACING (2 day)
This Crew / helm course is part of the Yachting Australia Discover sailing program and
Caters for both start crewing and helming students.
LIVE ABOARD WEEKEND
Cruise the Channel for a weekend and discover all aspects of cruising, night sailing, navigation and improving sailing skills. The course starts with mid week safety & planning meeting then leaving Saturday morning for Bruny Island and returning Sunday. This is a hand’s on course suitable for all levels even beginners.

|MARINE RADIO CERTIFICATE
This is a Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) accredited course for obtaining a recreational motor boat licence. Course is approximately 3 hours duration consisting of practical session, followed by a theory and a multiple choice test.
INSHORE AND COASTAL NAVIGATION
Suitable for raw beginner to the experienced. This is a serious navigation course covers position fixing, estimated position, course to steer, tides, introduction to COLREG’s, elements passage planning. To get the most out the course will need to allow time for homework
SAFETY AND SEA SURVIVAL COURSE
Course provides survival training for offshore sailors. It is mandatory for 50% of crew in cat 1 Offshore races and recommended for cat 2 events, Bluewater cruisers will benefit greatly from the training. Practical and theoretical courses over 2 days. Course includes pool session, deployment of life raft and flare session

Session looks at how GPS & AIS works, and how it is used in conjunction with navigation.
