PRACTICAL COURSE – POWER BOAT

POWER BOAT MAST LICENCE (4hr)                                                                 min 2, max 5        $130

 

Additional weekend or midday courses can be arranged with min of 2 students

 

Course includes MAST Boatwise Buddy manual, practical, theory and exam

Meet at Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania office, parking is available.

PRACTICAL COURSE – KEELBOAT TRAINING   

Recommend a discover sailing session before participating in Keel boat training or twilight race.

Courses require min 2 and max 4, Sessions are weather dependant

All sessions are hands and practical, options for training are

  • Keelboat discover sailing experience sailing or, introduction preparation for training
  • Keelboat training training sessions to develop skills
  • Twilight race participate in twilight race & lean about racing
  • Keelboat crew & helm 2-day includes manual & syllabus
  • Keelboat overnight 2-day Crew and Helm but spend night at Bruny Island

Private lessons can be arranged and additional sessions on Tuesday evenings or weekends

Optional manual and syllabus for the training is $50.00

KEELBOAT SAILING PROGRAM – DISCOVER SAILING
Keelboats program allow you to learn to sail without the fear of capsizing. Young 88 provides a learning platform that is stable yet responsive.

RYCT training program allows development sailing skills and an understanding of each person’s role and how teamwork plays a major part of being an effective crew.

Objective of program to provide knowledge and confidence to able to crew or skipper a keelboat competently.  Program develops skills to participate in cruising or racing.

TRAINING
TWILIGHT RACE                                        $25 per person

Thursday evening twilight race

 

DISCOVER SAILING – EVENING               $50 per session

During daylight savings sessions from

5.30pm to 8.30pm

KEELBOAT LEARN TO SAIL
Keelboat courses are endorsed by Australian Sailing. Ideal way to leant how to crew, helm or skipper a keelboat. Can also arrange twilight races, crew positions or cruising.

KEELBOAT CREWING

An introduction to Keelboat sailing, including boat handling, safety and sailing theory. This course is aimed at the first-time sailor, dinghy sailor (converting to keelboats) or prospective holiday yacht charterer.

Duration: 12 hours (Most courses are 4 x 3-hour Twilight evening sessions or 2 x 6-hour weekend sessions.

Cost:   Training material $50 and

Session 3 to 4 hr cost $50 / session

KEELBOAT HELMING 

Participants with previous experience or completed Keelboat Crewing. The course is practical and includes helming techniques, crewing, man over board and reefing.

Duration:

12 hours (Most courses are 4 x 3-hour Twilight evening sessions or 2 x 6-hour weekend sessions.

Cost: $220 per person.

 

KEELBOAT SKIPPER  

Participants with previous experience or completed Keelboat Crewing. The course includes helming techniques, crewing, man over board and reefing.

Duration:

12 hours (Most courses are 4 x 3-hour Twilight evening sessions or 2 x 6-hour weekend sessions.

Cost: $220 per person.

 

Each course includes 2 months’ sailing membership at Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. This offer is only available to non-members participating in Keelboat Program.
