Off The Beach is the centreboard club of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. It is run by volunteers and offers a safe and fun environment for children and adults to learn sailing in a variety of centreboard boats.
RYCT OTB is run by a group of volunteer parents and supported by the facilities of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. Our wonderful main club house is warm and inviting with superb facilities, the sheds to the east of the club house provide storage for our boats. The sheds were originally built to house the 12ft Cadet Dinghy fleet and the Sharpie class.
Today, the sheds are home to Lasers (full rig, radial and 4.7), Sabots, Optimists, Flying 11s, the International 420 and 470, 29er and 49er classes, windsurfers and the super-fast Foiler Moths. RYCT owns a fleet of training boats, giving sailors an opportunity to try a number of different classes before they need to buy. RYCT is the proud owner of 10 Optimists, eight Sabots, six Pacers, one Laser and two International 420s. These have been purchased and maintained through the generous donations of our club sponsors.
RYCT OTB provides a number of training and racing options for different classes on Saturdays, beginning in early October. Please see the season calendar for the full list of training and racing dates.
