AVAILABLE COURSES

Duration: 3 – 4 hr              Price   $ 50

Sailing session which allow individuals to try sailing or practice their skills. Try a discover sailing session to experience an evening on the water. Additional sessions can be arranged. These sessions are great for introducing sail experience or preparing for racing or keelboat training.

What’s Involved?

Safety briefing, rig boat, sail session and visit to Kings Pier.

Australian sailing crew & helm course

The RYCT keelboat program allows you to learn to sail on the Club’s Young 88 keelboat which provides a learning platform that is stable yet responsive.

The objective of the program is to provide the knowledge and confidence to be able to crew or skipper a keelboat competently and for those that wish to progress to larger yachts or participate as crew on a racing yacht.

What to Bring?

Non-marking, closed-toe shoes
Beanie
Sunglasses
Water bottle and snacks
Warm clothes
Hat or cap

The RYCT will provide life-jackets, sunscreen, gloves, wet weather gear and tethers.

ABOUT DISCOVER SAILING…

The Discover Sailing Experience is practical hands-on sailing focusing on having fun. Our qualified Instructor will be out on the water with you, ensuring your safety and is ideal for people who have never been sailing before.

People of all ages and abilities can participate in a Discover Sailing Experience. Partners, friends and work colleagues. You can book as a group or book a place for just yourself and join a group to meet other people new to sailing.

It is recommended beginners participate in a Discover Sailing session before participating in Keelboat training or twilight race.

Courses require min 2 and max 4, Sessions are weather dependent

All sessions are hands and practical, options for training are

  • Discover Sailing Experience – Evening, day and weekend courses are available
  • Keelboat training sessions to develop skills
  • Twilight Racing – Participate in a race while developing skills
  • Crew and Helm – Australian Sailing crew and helm course
  • Keelboat overnight – 2-days with overnight anchoring at Bruny Island

Private lessons can be arranged and additional sessions on Tuesday evenings or weekends

Optional manual and syllabus for the training is $50.00
