No matter whether you're an old sea dog or a newcomer, the weather will treat you the same. This Course provides the vehicle to take you to a greater level in your understanding of the weather.Presented by RYCT club member, the informative and entertaining Kenn Batt. Kenn grew up around yachts in Hobart and has completed many significant ocean races, both here in Australia and abroad.Kenn's name pops up at many yachting events around Australia and as a job he works for the BoM (where he has worked now for 34years) as the Senior Forecaster and Manager of the Canberra Meteorological Office.
There are three ways to get some of his expertise:1. Weather 101. This is the basic understanding of weather and it will run for one day on Saturday 12th September at a cost of $55.00 for financial RYCT members and $65.00 for non-members. 2. Weather 201. This is all about advanced weather understanding, including long distance ocean racing/cruising in mid-latitudes as well as the tropics. It too runs for one day on Sunday 13th September at a cost of $55.00 for financial RYCT members and $65.00 for non-members. OR 3. Weather 301. The complete picture, it combines both the Weather 101 and Weather 201 curriculum over both days at a cost of $100.00 for financial RYCT members and $120.00 for non-members. Sound interesting (and why wouldn't it). For any queries, please contact RYCT reception on 62234599 or Nick Corkhill on 0400024823. |
