Gippsland Lakes Cruise 2010

11 boats left Hobart 11 on the Saturday 23rd of January 2010 on this 760 mile, 23 day cruise-in-company to the Giuppsland Lakes and back. Another 2 joined them on Tasmania's east coast. Most arrived back in Hobart on Sunday 14th February.

There is an occasional blog giving details of the progress of the fleet as is made its way north from Hobart through the Denison Canal, along Tasmania’s east coast, then across Bass Strait to Lakes Entrance. After spending a week or so exploring the Gippsland Lakes, 12 boats returned safely to Hobart by the same route; the 13th returned to her home port of George Town on the River Tamar.

Here is a list of the 13 boats in the fleet .

There is a detailed Cruise Plan. Nothing was compulsory on the cruise, except a requirement to check in with the cruise commodore at the evening radio sched at 1833 hours each day. This mandatory requirement is relaxed once the fleet is inside the lakes.
